Many customer service questions have to do with choosing embroidery content.  Embroidering your name and credentials on your professional garments really is like wearing your diploma.  For some people, lapel coverage is something to avoid at all costs, since it may partially hide one’s name and title.  For those customers, there are three important tips you should know about your embroidery content:

1. Script font takes up more room than block font.  Script is very beautiful and classic looking, but you make a trade for that beauty with lapel coverage if you want a lot of content or credentials listed.
2. Those spaces, periods and commas all count in the overall character count of your embroidery. When we say you can fit 26 characters on a size 44 Laennec you have to count the periods in M.D., or the dash in PA-C, as well as the commas and spaces.
3. You can alter the lapel coverage by pressing your lapel higher on your lab coat.  As much as we request our manufacturer to press all the lapels the same height for every style, they all come to us sometimes varying by inches.  These inches can mean the difference between lapel coverage and a clear-view of the embroidery.   So if you receive your lab coat with the first few characters covered, don’t worry, just have your local cleaner press the lapel up a bit higher.

This fantastic blog post by The Doctors' Rheum gave us a few good laughs, but definitely got us thinking about our colleagues in medicine and how it must look when taking a chance on one's work attire.

2013 has been a vibrant year at Medelita and one of the many areas of growth has been with our Medical Group Affiliations.  Over 20 Medical Organizations have become affiliated partners with Medelita so far this year, including National, International, and regional organizations. Affiliation brings synergistic benefits to Medical organizations such as member discounts on Medelita lab coats and scrubs, gift certificates and catalogs for organization conferences, and cooperative website promotions.   We recently invited our organization contacts to discuss some additional benefits available for 2014 and the response has been swift and positive. In the four years since Medelita first began offering affiliation relationships, no organization has decided to discontinue their affiliation status.  The relationship has value to organization members and organizations themselves through creating additional value and membership incentives. With a global customer base, the timing isn’t always right for immediate person to person communication.  In response, Medelita’s in-house IT department created a new click-to-chat message feature that has really made a difference for our customers and CSR team. The new feature allows for detailed communication to continue whatever the time zone, giving customers the ability to leave detailed messages about their questions any time of day.   In response, Medelita CSR composes a detailed reply during the next business day (M-F, 8-5 PST).  The new messaging feature is particularly popular on the weekends when customers have the time to read all the ideal features of our professional Medical garments.  Quite often an internet order comes in for those customers shortly after receiving our replies. It’s just another way we are always progressing here at Medelita, achieving improvements in every area of our business, continually.
