Regina George may have had it somewhat right, but these days it's not just on Wednesday's that we wear pink. The entire month of October is now dedicated to wearing the color in order to help raise awareness for breast cancer, and as knowledge continues to spread, more and more people are joining the movement.

Strong women have been breaking down the walls of doubt and uncertainty since the beginning of time, and as a caregiver I hope to provide a compassionate and encouraging voice to my patients just as the medical team who treated my cancer provided to me.

This centuries-old practice has appeared to help the mentally ill in a more effective way than traditional western methods. 

In 2010 alone, there were an estimated 16.9 million lives lost from conditions requiring surgical care. This issue is inherently ethical, but it also has serious economic repercussions that has a huge influence on the rest of the world.
