Graphic Designer

Position Type: Full Time
Location: Laguna Hills, CA


We are seeking an experienced graphic designer to own the creation and maintenance of both our marketing assets and content created to support the product and other marketing goals. From concept through execution, this candidate will improve our user experience by bringing our brand to life and keeping it consistent across all our various touchpoints.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with marketing and product marketing teammates to support our website design and content marketing (blog, social media assets, and more).
  • Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your expertise and eye for great design.
  • Scope and create templates for our marketing team to be more efficient in their posting on social media, the blog, email, and other channels.
  • Meet regularly with product designers to gain inspiration for colors, structure, architecture, and inspiration.
  • Manage other design needs such as presentations, signage, and trade show collateral as needed.
  • Assist with all tasks associated with photoshoots on location in Los Angeles, including mood boards, shot lists, inspiration, model selection, styling, execution, and photo finishing.
  • Organize, itemize, and leverage all photography and design assets for use across the company network.
  • Plan and execute new concepts for our packaging, signage, and sales collateral for consumers, retailers, and clients.
  • Design and produce bi-weekly segmented email campaigns to our existing customers.
  • Design and produce a quarterly brand refresh on all existing and new auto-email concepts like cart abandonment emails and welcome series emails.
  • Collaborate with content marketing team to refresh all site landing pages, product pages, and category pages.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS or equivalent working experience.
  • Past experience as either an in-house designer or at a marketing agency (we require work samples to apply for this position).
  • Experience designing for a content management system. This person must create assets for our web team that are mobile-, tablet-, and desktop-friendly and provide a user experience that fits on all three screens.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of HTML & CSS highly preferred. You should be able to make a web page from scratch or know how to work in HTML & CSS inside of a CMS like Wordpress.
  • E-commerce, retail, fashion, and/or healthcare industry experience/knowledge is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit looking to join a fast-paced, energetic team.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects, produce quality work on time, and prioritize tasks according to needs that can change daily/hourly.
  • Is passionate about design but can handle positive criticism with the desire to learn and grow.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Must be able to commute to the office every day. This is not a telecommuting position.

Senior Technical Designer

Position Type: Full Time

Medelita, known as “the Lululemon of medical apparel,” is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, full-time Senior Technical Designer. This is an unusual opportunity with a high-growth company known as the leader in upscale performance medical apparel. This role is ideally suited for an ambitious, enthusiastic, detail oriented and proven Senior Technical Designer with significant tailored garment and performance athletic experience with outstanding interpersonal communication skills.

Medelita is not the average apparel company. We are not seasonal or line-based. Our focus is on perfecting and refining new and existing styles, ensuring fool-proof sewing in production, and upholding extremely rigorous quality standards for both company development and custom hospital orders.

Experience Required

  • 8 years (minimum) garment industry experience with pattern and design teams
  • Advanced pattern making, draping, and tailored garment construction ability
  • Exceptional fitting skills and en eye for detail
  • Advanced pattern correction illustration experience
  • 5 years (minimum) experience with Adobe Illustrator
  • Extensive experience working with and willingness to travel to off-shore factories; experienced work and travel in Asia is preferred.
  • MS Office expertise
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing Technical Designers or Assistant Technical Designers
  • Advanced textile engineering and performance yarn / fabric knowledge

Educational Background

  • Bachelors of Science in Fashion (preferred) or combination of equivalent experience / education in lieu of degree

Technical Design Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full life-cycle from Design to Pre-Production
  • Define the fit of a garment by creating spec sheets in tech pack
  • Lead 1st proto, correction proto(s), JSS and PP sample fittings with Design Team
  • Accurately determine highly detailed fit issues and communicate corrections in fittings and via email or any form of communication necessary to factory partners
  • Some travel may be required * Sketch and clearly define pattern corrections in Adobe Illustrator
  • Assist Fabric Design and Innovation Team in evaluation, development, and sourcing of new performance fabrics
  • Responsible for grading on all classifications
  • Update tracking reports ensuring all target dates and obligations are met
  • Maintain block library with consistent fit and construction standards
  • Create and maintain the timeline for photo samples and approval
  • Interact daily with suppliers to solve issues related to garment engineering
  • Partner with QA as needed on bulk production and claims issues
  • Train new associates in technical design responsibilities and process
  • Work with Marketing to support product aesthetic and vision
  • Partner with Customer Service Team to hand-off product prior to launch

Knowledge of HTML is a major plus, but not necessary as long as you're willing to learn.
