Each year U.S. News releases its ranking report for national hospitals who are leaders in their respective areas of care. Almost 200 children's hospitals in the country were evaluated based on key clinical data and detailed surveys, with only eleven hospitals ranking at the top in three or more specialties

Here are the top 11 hospitals to make the cut in this year's best children's hospitals: 


1. Boston Children's Hospital

Boston Children's Hospital is a 395-bed comprehensive center for pediatric health care. As one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the United States, Boston Children's offers a complete range of health care services for children from birth through 21 years of age. 

2. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

As the nation's first hospital devoted exclusively to caring for child patients, CHOP has been the birthplace for many dramatic firsts in pediatric medicine. The hospital has fostered medical discoveries and innovations that have improved pediatric healthcare and saved countless children’s lives. In the most recent year reported, the teaching hospital had 31,262 admissions, 88,212 ER visits, and performed 7,568 inpatient and 18,369 outpatient procedures.

3. Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center

Cincinnati Children’s began providing specialized care for children 130 years ago. In that time, they’ve grown from a small children's hospital to a large, multisite medical center that cares for children from across the globe. The teaching hospital is ranked nationally in 10 pediatric specialties, with 17,078 admissions reported in the most recent year.
