Audrey Sue Cruz, MD is a third year internal medicine resident in Southern California who attended medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, she studied and received her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. However she found that her passion for medicine and her love of math and science lead her to become a doctor, her true calling. This summer, she will be completing her internal medicine residency and will be starting her new position as an Attending Hospitalist as well as an Instructor for a medical school in Southern California. Outside of work, Audrey Sue enjoys traveling and seeking new adventures.
In her own words,
"My favorite thing about my job is the ability to form meaningful doctor-patient relationships. Patient interaction is so important to me, and I find great satisfaction in being there for my patients during their times of need. One of the biggest challenges I've faced in medicine is finding time for work-like balance. With such long and grueling shifts that are required of residents, it's sometimes hard to relax and have fun. Recently, though, I've been making a greater effort to make time for self-care, seeing friends, and planning events that help me de-stress.
To me, professional style is a visual representation of one's personality and poise. Professional appearance is how you represent yourself, your position, and your confidence. It is important to instill confidence in one's self, patients, and colleagues by maintaining a clean, classy, and fashionable professional style."
