Aleah is a third-year allopathic medical student who is the voice behind the blog Medicine in Michigan. She started a pre-medical fraternity at the University of Michigan during her undergraduate studies, which sparked her interest in helping other pre-medical and medical students. While in medical school, she has been involved heavily in the American Medical Women's Association. She plans to pursue a career in family medicine.
With a true passion for helping others, Aleah says:
"In my opinion, family medicine doctors are truly the "rock" of the medical community. They serve as the gateway for many community members and have the opportunity to impact their patients from the ground up. They aren't "just doctors." They can be thought of as therapists, social workers, healers, friends, and family in so many instances."
In her own words:
"Professional style is important to me in so many different ways. I want to look AND feel good in the things I wear. I want to promote health through my clothing (#germfree) and give off professional vibes. Lastly, I want my female body to NEVER hinder my attire choices."
