Christine Chung, DO is a second generation Taiwanese American and Californian native with an adventurous personality to match her passion for helping others. Although she loves medicine and surgery, Christine also prioritizes making time outside of her practice. In her free time, Christine enjoys yoga, hiking, writing, nutrition, traveling, and discovering new restaurants, museums, neighborhoods, and music.
In her own words,
"When thinking about a career in health care, we often think about the science, medicine, and the job - but the best and my favorite part is caring for people - hearing their stories, and having the privilege of being a part of their lives.
The biggest challenge for me has been understanding the balance between self care and giving my all to the job. It is my #1 priority for me and I want to continue to create ways to facilitate that easily in my life, and hopefully help others as well.As I write about my journey and give perspective on being a woman in medicine (specifically in surgery), I want to create a space where I can support other women in medicine, network with others, as well as discuss important issues within the culture and structure of medicine. This is important to me as I move forward in my health care career in hopes of making a positive impact and difference in the medical community!"
