Sarah Naamou is a first year PA student at Western Michigan University. She received her bachelors in nutrition and food science from Wayne State University and has also worked in healthcare as an urgent care MA for 5 years. Other than medicine, Sarah's life is all about make up, horror movies, photography, chocolate and coffee!

In her own words,

"My favorite thing about being a PA student is finally being able to learn about and practice medicine! It is the most challenging thing I have ever done in my life, but I cannot see myself doing anything else!

As a minority in medicine, I believe representation in medicine is imperative. Healthcare professionals of diverse backgrounds can help bridge different communities together and end disparities. My dream is to practice primary care as a PA at the HUDA Clinic, a free clinic in Detroit that I volunteered at for years during undergrad. I want to give back to the city that has given me so much by shedding light on the healthcare disparity that exists and by getting other healthcare professionals involved so that together we can help end it and give patients superior healthcare regardless of their socioeconomic background."
