Stephanie Gebara, MPAS, PA-C is a family medicine physician assistant who graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida. Outside of work, Stephanie describes herself as a skincare junkie, and she loves to try new products and DIY procedures while displaying her white coat style.
In her own words,
"My favorite thing about being a family medicine PA is getting to know my patients and their families and playing a very active role in their health. Before anyone else, they come to me for an evaluation and for the coordination of their care. I love to counsel on preventative health and emphasize the importance of a balanced diet and healthy weight in order to prevent chronic diseases. It's incredibly gratifying when diabetes is reversed, or cholesterol numbers go down based on the plan that I coordinate with my patient.
The most challenging part of working as a family medicine PA is addressing all the patients' needs in such a short amount of time. There is always pressure to see more and more patients. We always try to accommodate sick patients and work them into our schedules. It's also challenging at times to identify those who are acutely ill and need emergent attention, which is such a critical part of the job.
To me professional style means feeling confident in how you look so that you can exude that confidence while caring for patients. Looking professional increases patients' confidence in your ability to correctly assess and diagnose them. If you do not appear to care for yourself and how you look, what will assure your patient that you will properly care for him or her?"
