Yang Yang is a medical student in her clinical years. She is originally from NJ, where she also attended college. Before beginning her journey in medical school, Yang was an EMT and a scribe in the ED, where she was able to really learn the importance of medicine as a team practice.

In her own words,

"I had a difficult time transitioning from working to school. The workload in the first and second years really got to me and I struggled. There were times I questioned my career decision. Now that I'm in the clinical years, it has gotten so much better! Seeing patients, even as a third year, has been incredibly rewarding. I am so glad I stuck with it!

In school, I've learned the importance of taking care of your self both mentally and physically, as I believe that how you feel about yourself and how you carry yourself can really boost your confidence, and in turn, how you practice. Professional style means looking and feeling good in your clothing but still dressing in a way that is appropriate for the work environment. Too often, professional attire is considered boring or mundane. I believe it should be both flattering and empowering!"
